Photofacial resurfacing with the IPLAs we age, we begin to notice our skin showing signs of time, sun damage and lifestyle choices. These facial imperfections can detract from our appearance and well-being. Photorejuvenation offers dramatic improvement to multiple conditions creating younger, smoother and healthier looking skin with little or no downtime. To combat this, Plastic Surgery Associates uses the Lumenis One system. This advanced state-of-the-art light and laser system is redefining the art of cosmetic laser procedures, using photorejuvenation to improve upon sun-damage and numerous other facial imperfections including:
How Does It Work? The system delivers a special range of wavelengths of light in customizable pulses through a sapphire tip gently onto your skin. The light is absorbed either superficiallyby broken capillaries and dark pigment or deeper by larger vessels and collagen. Dilated capillaries coagulate, pigmented lesions darken and then slough off and new collagen fibers are laid down, giving the skin a renewed and more youthful appearance. How is Photorejuvenation Performed?A cold gel is usually applied to the area to be treated, and you may be given dark glasses or goggles to protect your eyes from the bright light. The smooth, cold surface of the IPL handpiece is gently touched to your skin and pulses of light are applied. You may feel a slight stinging like the snapping of a rubber band. An anesthetic cream may be used, but is seldom required. Each treatment typically takes about 20 minutes. In general, excellent long term results can usually be achieved with a series of four to six treatments. You can return to work the same day and resume all your regular activities. By dividing the full program into several treatments, the procedure provides gradual improvement with very low risk, preserving the convenience of a “no downtime” procedure. What Areas Can Be Treated?IPL Photorejuvenation can be used to treat any area of the body. The most common areas are the face, neck, chest and hands. * * * * If you would like more information about IPL skin treatments using photorejuvenation or hair removal with the most advanced technology available, contact us to schedule a complimentary consultation. |
